Amazing how life goes...
Jul. 16th, 2014 06:17 pmWow. To think I've been ignoring my DW account because I was failing to find stuff to write about!
Long story short, Peter Venkman has gone from childhood toon favourite, to a symbol of friendship, to proof that fate is a thing, to probably the closest thing he can get to being one of my personal characters, without me actively owning him. The reason why is my friend Gabi, whom I met through another person on Deviantart who worked with her in 1986 on the Real Ghostbusters.
Gabi DESIGNED Peter and his pals! It's because of her that he's short and cute and has his shaggy little hairdo! I ended up contacting her, we hit it off immesely, and now we're really close friends! And the best part? She's a furry too! Her fursona is a raccoon, and she draws the cutest animal art and comic strips! She's hilarious, and sweet, and has the most amazing imagination!
Gabi's also an amazing teacher. She's been giving me art lessons on anatomy and structure and life drawing, and using Peter as a learning tool to make it fun cos she knows how much I love him! :) (Also had some canon facts about the little guy solidify along the way. The way she designed them, Peter is the shortest of the RGB crew at 5'4". Meanwhile, Egon is the tallest at 6'2".)
*grins and hugs Peter tight* It's amazing how a goofy kid in a cartoon I watched as a pup led me to possibly one of the best friends I've ever had.
Now Peter makes me smile ten times more!
