ART POST: Come at me bitches

Call it a political statement, call it opinion, call it my take on most of the Real Ghostbusters fanfic out there, but I'm still proud of how this picture came out.

Mind you, I've mellowed quite a bit since I initially drew this pic, but I still think a good lot of fanfic authors out there are batshit insane. :P Fortunately, for the types of demons a proton pack can't handle, a baseball bat does nicely.

Ah, yes, but see, I wouldn't torture Egon like that... I might... make him get with Janine in that way, but not torture him horribly.

Although with a franchise like Ghostbusters, it would be normal for occasional injuries, just not to the hurt/comfort extreme some fanfic writers crank it up to.

More something along the lines of what Omorka has written for them, lol. NOT the vampire story, I don't do vampires. (Except that story was pretty good, and you can almost overlook the Ray/Peter slashy undertones if you squint.)

Hee, I know what you mean though. I love the Movieverse fics Omorka does and the vampire one was one of the best!!!

LOL! I mean, I wouldn't be above writing the occasional busting injury, I mean, shit happens in a physical job, but not as the sole purpose of a fic.

And yes, the vampire one was one of the best, and I like the awkward, first-time!Egon/Janine too. That fic describes perfectly how I imagine that would pan out.

No, I totally get that and it makes sense. It's just that people take it too far coz omg smarm. In addition, the RGB version of Peter is a cartoon character, and he's more or less just a kid instead of a weathered adult like the movie and IDW version, so that, coupled with the fact that I associate him with my childhood is a large part of why I'm so fiercely protective of him.

but regarding GOOD fanfic, that Janine/Egon story omorka wrote is another favourite of mine, the characters were so spot on! :)

Yup, I get that. I mean, in RGB if they "hurt" themselves, it was more likely to be because they'd bumped against something, but I don't think there's ever been something that laid them up for awhile (aside from when that substance practically fused itself to them and they spent some time in hospital), and it's almost always been played for laughs, and nothing that would cause something more serious than bumps, bruises and scrapes.

Oh, yeah, that one, I can actually hear Annie and Harold's voices in it. It's like, holy crap, this is good! LOL! :)
